Alex Gambal Puligny-Montrachet 2012

Puligny Montrachet is recognized for its white wine that should exhibit a lemon-lime tropical zest. Located between Meursault and Chassagne- Montrachet the wines from Puligny are elegant and exhibit a racy mineral quality unique for this variety. Our Puligny comes from our vines planted from 1952-1954 below the 1er Cru Clavaillon; “Les Grand Champs” and “Les Petits Grands Champs.”

The grape’s natural yeasts were used for fermentation, 100% malolactic fermentation (natural) with a small amount of battonage. The wine matured 13 months in barrel 5 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.

Bottling: There was light filtration without fining before bottling by gravity on February 12, 2014. Number of bottles produced: 1,913

Tasting Notes: The wine has lovely golden and yellow tints with an expressive nose of white flowers, citrus and tropical fruits. The wine has a sleek feel as it is dense, with hints of honey yet tightly wound at the same time. The wine requires patience.
