Vines: Prugnolo Gentile (90%) and Canaiolo (10%) Planting System: Guyot and spurred cord (for new vines)
Plant Density: 3,500/5,000 vines per hectare Terrain: medium hilly, crumbled rock with good skeletal content
Vinification: Manual harvesting, controlled temperature fermentation followed by maceration in stainless steel vats. Refined in Slavonic Oak barrels for at least 3 months
Characteristics of the wine:
Color - ruby red with violet hues
Bouquet - characteristic red berry notes, full and lingering with hints of brushwood
Flavor - full, dense and well balanced with a pleasing, tannic finish that echoes the tradition of its principal component, the Prugnolo Gentile grape
Food pairing - a young wine that pairs well with red meats and medium-seasoned cheeses
Serving temperature - recommended serving temperature is 16-18 C or 61-64 F.
